The NFL Draft is quickly approaching, and Scout.com NFL Expert Tom Marino has had his nose to the grindstone putting together the Scout.com Draft Board. Marino graded over 1,000 NFL prospects and has them ranked on Scout.com.

Tom Marino is a veteran of 35 years in the player personnel field, most recently with the St. Louis Rams. He has worked in three professional leagues (NFL, USFL, and WFL), and among his many accomplishments, is credited with the discovery of Eric Swann, the first non-collegiate player since 1946 to be selected in the 1st round of the NFL college draft.

"Once again, it starts off every year looking like it's going to be a poor draft, until the juniors start to declare to add depth," said Marino. "But as the juniors start entering, it ends up looking like a strong draft this year."

Marino's Top 3 prospects in his Top 250 regardless of position are all juniors.

I think this year is deeper at wide receiver than last year, and Calvin Johnson is the No. 1 prospect in this draft. He is the closest you have to a near perfect wide receiver. He has everything, size, skill, hands; he's a mismatch guy. He physically dominates those that have to cover him. He creates a mismatch on every play, and he's a high character kid."

At quarterback, it's a fourth year junior from LSU that is ranked the No. 2 prospect overall.

"JaMarcus Russell is a real physical specimen with a great arm. He moves around real well for a big man. He's in the mold of Daunte Culpepper. He's a little taller, and he's in that new wave of quarterbacks with that kind of size. He has a ways to go in improving his skills, but he has everything necessary to be a top player."

At No. 1 at running back, Oklahoma's Adrian Peterson checks in at No. 3 overall.

"Adrian Peterson is another player that has everything. The only thing he lacks, is that he hasn't proven to be durable. But he's big, strong fast and has everything he needs to be a bell-cow running back. I hate to make comparisons, but he's a little like Eric Dickerson with that size, balance, and ability to catch the ball out of the backfield."
