2007 seems to be a breakthrough year for Jacksonville Jaguars running back Fred Taylor; he is likely to participate in the Pro Bowl and is also being considered for another award of sorts. Taylor is one of 3 finalists for the 2007 FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Year award; also being considered are San Diego Chargers RB LaDanian Tomlinson and Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson.
Taylor led the Jaguars to an 11-5 record by rushing for 1,202 yards (5th in the AFC, 9th overall in the NFL) on only 223 carries (5.4 YPC) while scoring 5 touchdowns. This year, Taylor became the 21st RB in league history with 10,000 yard rushing (10,715); Taylor was nominated for 2 FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week awards in 2007 - winning once.
