The Indianapolis Colts will be without starters Jeff Saturday and Dallas Clark when they meet the Minnesota Vikings in the Metrodome this afternoon.
Saturday will miss his second straight start after tearing a ligament in his right knee in an Aug. 24 preseason game against Buffalo. The three-time Pro Bowl center began to practice Wednesday and was hopeful he could return to the starting lineup, but that didn't happen. Rookie Jamey Richard once again will start in place of Saturday.
Clark will miss the game after injuring his right knee in last Sunday's season opener against Chicago. He went through pre-game warm-ups this morning, but was one of the Colts' eight inactive players.
Also inactive are guard Mike Pollak, wide receiver Roy Hall, tight end Jacob Tamme, defensive tackle Daniel Muir and defensive ends Marcus Howard and Curtis Johnson.
With Clark and Tamme out, the Colts will have only two healthy tight ends for the game - Gijon Robinson and Tom Santi. Robinson is a first-year player who made his first NFL appearance against the Bears and had zero catches. Santi was inactive last week.
The Colts likely will use more three-wide receiver formations today against the Vikings.
