Packers-Vikings game delivers ESPN's best ratings of year
Who needs Brett Favre? Monday night's game between the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings landed the biggest cable television audience of 2008, ESPN reported Tuesday.
The game on “Monday Night Football” earned a 9.3 rating, representing an average of 9.1 million households and 12.5 million viewers.
Led by Aaron Rodgers at quarterback in his first regular-season start, the Packers won 24-19.
The second half of ESPN’s doubleheader also fared well. The Denver Broncos’ 41-14 win over the Oakland Raiders had a 7.3 rating, with an average of 7.2 million households and 9.7 million viewers, ESPN said.
